City & Architecture Photography

This stunning twilight shot of Downtown Dubai captures the city at its most magical, with the Burj Khalifa soaring into a sky painted in fading sunset hues. The glowing lights of the Dubai Mall, surrounding skyscrapers, and weaving highways create a vibrant contrast against the calm evening sky. What makes this image truly special is not just the breathtaking view, but the effort behind it — gaining access to such prime vantage points requires immense dedication, patience, and appreciation for the work. Every detail, from timing the perfect light to securing the right location, reflects the hard work and passion needed to create a photograph of this caliber.

Not just the tower – Burj Khalifa, with it’s 828m the tallest manmade structure – the entire city is full of decadence in the superlative form. Everything is clean, looking for flattened chewing gums in vain, even the highway piers are painted and decorated with ornaments. In the middle of the wilderness, in the Arabian desert, a city has been built, and shows what is most expensive in the desert: water. At the airport, it flows down the walls meter by meter, at the foot of Burj Khalifa, where the famous Dubai Fountains are located – biggest in the world, every half hour from 6 pm every day, water is shot into the air in spectacular form dancing to various music pieces whether Vivaldi, Whitney Huston or Arabic sounds, the water, decorated with cheerful colors. Up to 150 meters high – definitely a world record.

The photograph captures the mesmerizing skyline of Dubai Marina at night, viewed from an elevated rooftop vantage point. Towering skyscrapers, adorned with sparkling lights, reflect on the calm waters of the marina, creating a mirror-like effect that doubles the city’s brilliance. The interplay of warm golden lights from buildings with the deep blue tones of the night sky evokes a sense of modern luxury and urban elegance. Subtle light trails from passing yachts and cars add a dynamic rhythm, highlighting the city’s constant energy even after dark. The composition balances architectural grandeur with serene reflections, perfectly showcasing Dubai Marina’s futuristic yet inviting charm.

Artificial marina, 100% manmade and impressive every time. 2 decades ago the only thing here was a desert to sea landscape

One of the places i really love in Dubai. The Marina and The Walk, both have a great atmosphere to stroll around, dine or relax on the beach.

A place wich never fails to amaze me is Madinat Jumeirah. With ist crystal clear water canals and traditional arches it is one of the most impressive places around the city.

Dubai is famous for its soaring skyline – and that’s not the only feat of engineering to capture the world’s imagination. Built from reclaimed land in a series of artificial archipelagos, Palm Jumeirah is shaped like a palm tree when viewed from above and Burj Khalifa with 828m standing proud as the tallest building on earth.

This particular place in Dubai has a whole range of very tall buildings, including the tallest manmade building – the Burj Khalifa – reaching impressive 828m. This session was also made difficult by the fact that I was shooting from a rooftop on a pretty windy day.
